Bereavement Bridge Coming Soon

BereavementBridge is a 10-week grief support program designed to help widows, grieving individuals, and vulnerable families in Southwest Washington navigate the emotional and practical challenges that follow the loss of a loved one. The program provides structured peer support, guided discussions, healing activities, and access to culturally responsive mental health support in a safe, community-centered environment.

The primary goals of the program are to reduce isolation, strengthen emotional resilience, improve coping skills, and help participants rebuild a sense of stability and connection after loss. GWA plans to facilitate multiple cohorts over the grant period, serving individuals who often lack access to affordable or culturally responsive grief care.

This program is needed because many grieving individuals—particularly widows, low-income families, and people from underrepresented communities—face barriers to support, including stigma around mental health, financial hardship, and limited access to services that reflect their lived experiences. Unresolved grief can negatively affect emotional well-being, family stability, and long-term quality of life. BereavementBridge addresses this gap by creating accessible spaces for healing, connection, and community support.
